Beating the Deadline

It's past noon and the only thing I've written is half a paragraph. My writing assignments this week are up to my neck. I only finished 10 articles in the past week, how lame is that. This week, there are 21 assignments and I plan to finish all of it by Wednesday. I want to go out of town or attend more presscons or even meet with friends.

Am distracted though. I am catching up with my favorite tv series. I spent two days watching episodes that I missed. So far am updated only in Gossip Girl, csi Miami and Merlin series. There are more to catch up though: csi, csi NY, Desperate Housewives, True Blood, Fringe (I love this series!), Dexter, Privileged, 90210, House, The Mentalist plus the more than 50 movies (or it now stands at 100?) lined up for me to see.

I'll work a little and play a lot. Am feeling xmas-sy, after all.

My Christmas List

It's almost Christmas. Truth be told, am not excited about it. Am not even shopping for gifts. Am not a grinch huh. Hahahaha. But well, in my family, Christmas is not really a yearly affair. Whenever we get the chance, even though for no reason or occasion, we get together, eat, drink and chika to the max. Ours is a close-knit family so Christmas is just an 'ordinary day'. We don't need to wait for December 25 to show one another how much we care and to have a good time together.

We're not the type who would say 'melodramatic' lines to each other. Geez, I have three brothers and they're not into the "I love you, I care for you, I'm always there for you" stuff. We can be in our own abodes, doing our own thing and feel comfortable that a supportive family is there. We just know that for every challenge that come our way, we are not going through it alone. There's a throng of relatives ready to take the plunge and go out of his/her way to help.

Just the same I have a "Christmas" wishlist. Actually am just making an excuse to splurge a little. So here it goes...

1. Washing machine--Our fully automatic Sharp washing machine bogged down two years ago, time for a replacement.

2. Dvd player--Well, what is my 25-inch TV for if I can't watch a movie once in a while, right?

3. Vacuum cleaner--Portable type cos I have a small apartment anyway. And I plan to buy a carpet. Whoooaaaah.

4. Nice, comfy bed--I really want a four-poster but I don't have a manse yet. I'll settle for a single, ultra-comfy for now.

5. Lifetime membership in a spa/fitness club--I don't only want to look good, more importantly, I need to feel good.

So there. No shoes, bags, clothes and skin care on the list. Well, I've come to realize that the things that matter most are the relationships that I've forged. May there be more new friends to come and more good memories to cherish.

Merry Christmas, everyone!!!!!!!
