A friend wrote this poem for me... thought it would be nice to share it with you.
Here I sit alone as the sun is about to set,
today it brightly shone and ends with my only regret,
today you were not here for me to yes hug and to hold,
and to had to leave your beauty left and let unforetold,
nor tomorrow shall you be here but I hope for another day,
for me to sit beside you and Lord please direct my say
to say that for many years I served the needy and content,
and years I now reflect on and years so wholly spent
and now I seek the one whom you Lord gave to man,
bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh for him to take her by her hand
to love, cherish and support in times of both joy and distress,
in sickness and in health, in famine and abundance, in happiness and distress,
there is one from a land so very far away, a land I've never been to, but wish to go someday,
with hair flowing as a river, and eyes of a dove,
with a face filled with beauty, only which can come from YOU above,
I long to see her face, and gaze into her eyes, and that one day of joy will be worth more than all my current sighs,
to walk on the beach and lay upon the hills,
to speak of life, love and art, with such beauty bringing chills,
to have her dress in a dress so lovely, which her beauty would surely glow,
more radiant than the sunshine, or grass after a rainy flow,
and as the dusk approaches and the moon awaits its turn,
I only wish to tell her of how my heart does yearn,
to wake from the dreaming and have the dream finally render true,
the dream of how from separation I came to unite with you.
