The Heart Of A Champ

It only took 63 minutes for Serena Williams (unseeded, #81) to win the Australian Open against tennis No. 1 Maria Sharapova.

This is a sweet victory and an inspiring comeback for the former champ who prior to this title, already won seven in her illustrious career. Nobody gave Serena a chance. Notwithstanding the odds, she proved them all wrong.

We can learn from this and transform our defeat into victory. The difference between a champ's and an ordinary person's resolve must be the unwavering faith to win. For an athlete, winning is everything. You cannot be second best. If second prize is what you're aspiring for, then why go through all the trouble of training when you can just be a slacker and wait to be defeated.

Getting the plum makes life sweeter.
