Why Globelines Broadband Is NOT the Smart Choice

I made a big mistake subscribing to Globelines' broadband connection. Mine got activated Aug 3 of last year and since then they've been giving me a helluva of bad service. There's system maintenance every week (or day, depending on their mood) which "treats" me to at least four days of downtime (read: NO INTERNET) every month, NO rebate (they're still investigating, hey) and worse, been billed twice for the unit rental this month.

Right from the start, GLOBELINES had misled me. They said the 995 monthly charge is "all in" but the truth is, there is a rental fee for the unit plus VAT and that will balloon to 1294.04. The agent didn't inform me about that even though I asked him about the additional charges if there were any. He said, it's 995/month.

Okay, the monthly charge is not really a big deal when you get good service. Meaning, a real broadband connection. Well, you wouldn't get it even though you call them and rant 24/7. Sometimes a dial up connection is way faster and easier to access. That's the awful truth.

You can check out the numerous calls that I made to their customer service hotline, informing them about my predicament. My request for on site visit is more than a month old (on record I requested for it Dec 5) but they tell the public that they will attend to it in 24 hours. Geez.

The standard answers:
"Please transfer your modem to a higher place."
"We will have an on site visit to check your modem."
"We are having a system maintenance."
"We have forwarded your request for rebate to the billing department."
"Your request has been elevated to level 3."
"Our facilities are not working."

Or they just hang up.

Blah blah blah blah. Just a lot of nonsense.

True. For 4 days, call ako sa kanila. And all they can do is file a report. They don't even have a supervisor. Ka-cheap-an.
